Statutory Maximum?[edit]

The article claims the plaintiffs were awarded the "statutory maximum" of $20,000. But when the case was retried, the jury awarded $72,000, which is a lot more than the statutory maximum. Did the maximum no longer apply to a jury award? Is the article wrong about the statutory maximum? What's up with the maximum? —MiguelMunoz (talk) 03:31, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
