Who paid for it

I have taken this out: Some seasons of the show were produced by the BBC in the United Kingdom, RAI in Italy and Channel 7 in Australia, where later seasons of the show were more popular than in the domestic market, and in order to continue production, they financed the later seasons.

BBC stopped showing broadcasting the series after 4th season. TO be fair it produced in co op with RAI in Italy
