Exegesis, counted Cherie Blair's friend Carole Caplin among its adherents, Recruits would pay £200 to attend two or three-day courses with Exegesis trainers where, they would be screamed and shouted at, and ordered not to leave the room. It was at some of these meetings that Caplin, a former topless cover girl, was seen guarding doors at therapy sessions. Caplin also worked as a recruiter and trainer for the organisation. Once they had been brought in, new members would be encouraged to recruit more members and then persuaded to attend more specialised – and expensive – courses "to keep them topped up,"
There was a certain hypnotic technique involving hyperventilation called Catharsis. After this the recruit's confidence would be rebuilt.

Other Jewish people involved aside from Caplin, were Clement Freud, Charle Shaar Murray the Music Critic, Elizabeth Gluck, Judith Kramer and Martin Polikoff.
Incidentally, in the 1980s D'Aubigny was denounced by the Chief Rabbi as a blasphemer.
