key ingredient ?[edit]

The article states: 'ETA is a key ingredient of so-called "all-volatile treatment"', but this is wrong. The key ingredient for AVT (all-volatile-treatment) is of course ammonia, which is the most common alcalization agent used in power plants. 80.146.228.77 (talk) 16:12, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

sleep aids[edit]

Why is there no discussion of ethanolamines being used as sleep aids? Diphenhydramine and Doxylamine are both ethanolamines... Could someone with more knowledge about this add it to the main article under the "Uses" section, or at least link to these medications? --128.227.98.53 (talk) 14:09, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added basic mention of ethanolamines as a group and as a class of antihistamines.67.167.106.3 (talk) 15:59, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The NFPA graphic indicates a 3,2,0 rating, but the listed source, a JT Baker MSDS, indicates an NFPA rating of 2,2,0. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8.19.13.68 (talk) 20:54, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OMEGA process on preparing ethanolamine[edit]

Just as the OMEGA process selectively makes ethylene glycol, can the process involve ammonolysis of ethylene carbonate to make selectively ethanolamine over diethanolamine and triethanolamine ? Byproducts ammonium carbonate and ammonium bicarbonate are commercially important too. -- Mountainninja (talk) 02:37, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ETA is a different chemical than MEA...ETA is ethylamine (CAS 75047), MEA is monoethanolamine (CAS 141435). ETA is used as a pH control additive, MEA is not. (CAS- Chemical Abstract Service). 167.239.195.1 (talk) 17:16, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
