Image policy[edit]

This issue has been brought up before many times. Personally, I find it tiring to have to go back to Wikipedia policy guidelines every time. Please check out Help:Infobox and for the MoS guideline, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes. Nowhere there does it say that infobox has to have picture of a 'person' in it. It's OK to include closely related items such as book covers and art, quite acceptable per Wikipedia:Non-free content if the book is a subject of commentary directly in the body of article. Our policy/guideline under WP:NFCI for images states that non replaceable book covers can be used to illustrate articles about writers as publishing achievements → NFCI#1, the cover art implicitly satisfies the "contextual significance" NFCC criterion (NFCC#8), in the article about the author. By all means, you can upload a wp:fair-use portrait of the author yourself, because he is already deceased and no free image of him can be found. If you decide to do it please make use of relevant non-free rationale templates at the link provided. I just thought that what's paramount from our point of view is his ground-breaking work on the subject of Nazi Germany. Poeticbent talk 05:04, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
