Error in Figure[edit]

The reaction from GAP to pyruvate does not cost 2 ATP but leads to the formation of 2 ATP. Perhaps someone can correct this? 13:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Willem —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.121.120.73 (talk)

The only thing needed to correct it is to change "2 ADP" for "2 ATP" and vice-versa? Khullah (talk) 01:56, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edits of 4 August[edit]

I came here fore a quick check as to a particular fact about the pathway, and found the article written at a college level, at best, and inaccurate for its gross omissions. I chose three reviews that might help editors, adding them as "Further reading," and cleaned up the references as I could, time permitting. (The Bergey's citation did not mention Bergey's (the actual book name), or the article authors, etc., etc. In addition, some all caps, etc., dealt with.)

The matter of the articles using Bergey's (a good secondary source) for Rhizobium, then resorting to the primary literature is questioned, in an in-markup note, and here, and via tags. There is no reason to use primary sources for a basic biochemistry article such as this—review material abounds (see the complete Bergey's indices, and the new "Further reading" material for a start).

Because of the gross absence of material on the archaebacterial use of variants of this pathway, and because the generalizations made are superficial and significantly inaccurate—undergraduate textbook level, and dated at that—I have added the "Expert-subject" tag, for a career BS/MS microbiologist (or even a PhD level), to capture the modern and nuances aspects (Molecular and Cellular Biology was the Wikiproject called out). The omission of the archaes means many relevant genera do not appear, phylogenetic matters are confounded, etc.

I have marked some statements needing citation, and some dubious statements, but leave the rest to the expert.

Please do not remove the tags to make an article look better; readers deserve knowing that they are being shown an incomplete, and significantly inaccurate science article. Le Prof. 71.201.62.200 (talk) 05:33, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
