If my memory serves correctly, the video of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II shows the Queen being crowned in St. Edward's throne, but thereafter being symbolically assisted into a more modern throne by the Archbishop of Canterbury and one other member of the nobility, the two standing in representation of the Lords Spiritual and Lords Temporal, respectively. As I recall, the narrator on the video (Sir Lawrence Olivier) says that this represents that the Queen, already crowned, is symbolically taking possession of Her kingdoms by the act of enthronement. If I am remembering this correctly, and the statement is true, it seems to me like the point would be worthy of inclusion in the Enthronement entry in Wikipedia.

Netherlands

Does the investiture (inhuldiging) of the Kings/Queens of the Netherlands qualify as an "enthronement" ceremony ? As I understand it, it is not a coronation, but is quite more elaborate than a simple swearing-in ceremony. 161.24.19.112 (talk) 20:16, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

I wondered about this when I was working on that part of the article, some time back. I put it here as opposed to there because the crown jewels were present, even though the monarch is never crowned with them.
