All the maths sounds fake to me[edit]

The article says "He pioneered ways of applying fractal geometry, chaos theory, and genetic metaphors to musical composition and interaction". Does anyone have any evidence for this? I doubt it's true. I suspect E#'s compositional techniques aren't that complicated, and any mathematical ideas were already well-developed by Xenakis decades earlier. But I might be wrong, so I'm not going to edit the article. A reference is what we need here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.194.48.42 (talk) 21:57, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, all the math is real.[edit]

So far as I can tell not one of those references if to an article written by someone with the necessary competence in mathematics, never mind whether they know much about post-war composition. To establish this I'd need to see something peer-reviewed and thorough, not an interview in Guitar Player (OK some of the refs are better than that, but still). I'm not saying it's not true, just that I'm skeptical and would like to see evidence. I know Sharp's music pretty well and like it very much, but I don't think it serves him well to have claims like these made unless they're confirmed to be true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.194.48.42 (talk) 20:25, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
