Elliot or Elliott?[edit]

The subject's name is currently spelt 'Elliot' in the title of the page but 'Elliott' in the body. Have had a cursory look elsewhere online and both spellings are well represented... Jmu2108 (talk) 14:08, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest we should perhaps go by what the British Government printed in the official London Gazette. PDF

"Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, St. James’s Palace, London S.W.1., 8 June 2012

THE QUEEN has been graciously pleased, on the advice of Her Majesty’s Barbados Ministers, to give orders for the following appointment to the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George:

G.C.M.G. To be an Ordinary Member of the First Class, or Knight Grand Cross, of the said Most Distinguished Order: His Excellency Elliott Fitzroy BELGRAVE, Governor-General of Barbados. (To be dated 1 June 2012.)"

I would want to believe that the document outlining His Excellency's Knighthood by H.R.M. was spelled correctly.  ;-) CaribDigita (talk) 15:01, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
