Eid is a commonly used Arabic word that simply means holiday. In the Arab world the term is used for birthday and holidays and is commonly not limited to Muslim holidays but also includes Christian holidays.

Merge discussions[edit]

- I have a few problems with the namespace of this article. I don't know what the content of EID was, but it seems that "Eid" invariably refers to a proper name of a place or festival and "EID" (all caps) is invariably an acronym. Furthermore, EID is a commonly used term related to eSIM technology. I prefer having two disambiguation pages, one for Eid and another EID, with a See also template referring each one to the other, because the Wikipedia article naming convention makes clear distinctions between use of capital case letters for the two situations. Furthermore, because EID itself may well be the proper namespace for the eSIM technical term, EID (disambiguation) seems to be the proper article name for disambiguation of less commonly used acronyms.
