Global incidence[edit]

This article only discusses ehrlichiosis in the context of the USA, which gives rise to the question, does it (or other closely related diseases) occur in other countries? It would be helpful if the incidence of this disease elsewhere were also mentioned, or at least a statement given that it is endemic to the US. Floozybackloves (talk) 20:13, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Incidence[edit]

I updated the figure on the incidence, which had incorrectly reported only one type of Erlichiosis infection, but i think the article would benefit from a better source and also agree with the section above about making clear distinction between incidence in the U.S. and global human incidence. According to this source, the incidence has increased 4-fold since 2000, and the article should describe this increasing trend in incidence instead of reporting a static rate. I don't have time right now but maybe i can get to it. SageRad (talk) 15:02, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speculation re TNF-alpha[edit]

Here i removed some speculation about the connection between TNF-alpha upregulation in later stage of illness to toxic-shock-like symptoms. It was disjointed, probably from intervening edits, and had a very useful "which" tag. It must be sourced, as this would be etiological speculation without the sourcing and this is of course a MEDRS article about human health. A source a few sentences later does, i believe, speak about this, but it needs to be properly presented. Not having time right now, i have at least pared back the text to remove the disjointed and unclear speculation. SageRad (talk) 15:21, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Epidemiology[edit]

I researched and added some epidemiological factors surround Ehrlichiosis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sure.lock (talkcontribs) 16:01, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added some recent statistics on this disease and stated that this disease is more common in the United States to avoid confusion. Minikiwis (talk) 05:07, 2 December 2021 (UTC)MiniKiwis[reply]

Info box[edit]

I added an information box along with a picture at the top of the article so people can get a quick idea of what the disease is and see one of the ticks that can cause it. Minikiwis (talk) 05:09, 2 December 2021 (UTC)MiniKiwis[reply]

Ehrlichia muris eauclairensis[edit]

Expanded a bit on this because it was not previously mentioned because it's fairly new. Didn't have a whole lot to put in because of this, but I thought it was worth mentioning. If someone edits this article in a while and finds out that more information has been published about this version of the disease, please feel free to expand on what I couldn't. Prevention methods[edit]

Expanded a little on some methods of prevention. Some were mentioned previously, but I thought it might be helpful to mention a few so people don't have to go around searching for them themselves since they're already looking at this article.
