COI[edit]

This article appears to be primarily written by Edward Winterhalder as self-promotion. Needs to have most of this stuff deleted that is based on retail web sites and personal blogs and press releases. It should be replaced with information only from independent, third party sources. If there isn't enough out there to support a whole page, it can be redirected and merged into Bandidos. --Dbratland (talk) 00:13, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Winterhalder or one of his fans seems to think they can accomplish something by repeatedly deleting the maintenance tags without fixing the article. The only thing that gets you is blocked from editing.

I would suggest reading Avoid peacock terms and Third-party sources to understand what is wrong with this article and how to fix it. --Dbratland (talk) 16:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Contested inspiration of Jax in Sons of Anarchy[edit]

Recently there have been a lot of reverting of edits in regards to whether Jax was inspired by Edward Winterhalder. Unfortunately, all sources for this information are dubious. I would recommend removing reference to Sons of Anarchy until more reliable information is available. Furthermore, the following sources need removal since they are dead, do not prove the statement, and are not reliable sources:

10. ^ "Sons of Anarchy to bring packaged rebellion to TV". rideapart.com. Retrieved 2008-08-25. Dubious, author makes a lot of assumptions and does not quote anything to support the article.
11. ^ "Backstage Sons of Anarchy M6 TV Debut". backstage.rtlgroup.com. Retrieved 2009-09-10. Dead
12. ^ "API Meal Sons of Anarchy". apimeal.eu. Retrieved 2009-01-03. Dubious blog post. Maybe it is true that inspiration was drawn from the book "Out in Bad Standings"; however, this statement hasn't been verified and does not reference who told him that other than by original research.
13. ^ "Sons of Anarchy Trivia". sharetv.org. Retrieved 2012-11-15. Not in source. Additionally, this is user contributable which is not a reliable source.
14. ^ "Sons of Anarchy". moviefindr.com. Retrieved 2008-08-28. Dead

Conversely, the sutterink blog post can't be used to prove that he wasn't the inspiration of it either.

If anyone can prove it either way with more reliable sources, then we can close this out. Please do not continue reverting, for or against, until this discussion is closed. Thanks.

Thank you, I agree that all of the Sons of Anarchy references should be removed. I was only trying to provide a counterpoint to the claim, not remove all of the information. Sutterink is Kurt Sutter's official blog and he is a notable person so I believed it would qualify as per rule 11.Nikko11 (talk) 17:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do see now that as these are considered self-published they don't qualify unless it was for information about themselves. I can't find anything though from a legitimate source that does talk about him being the inspiration for Jax in SOA.Nikko11 (talk) 18:06, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Most recent edit was just reverted by a "blockheadcitydara". Blockhead City is Edward Winterhalder's company. I assume Dara works for him. Nikko11 (talk) 21:40, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adopted all suggestions regarding author Edward Winterhalder being the inspiration of the character Jax Teller in SOA as referenced in this talk page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Edward_Winterhalder); now let's put the issue to rest boys, and go on with our lives. We've all got better things to do. Blockheadcitydara (talk) 22:17, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
