Merger[edit]

I proposed merging Edward Schroder Prior into this article. The same person is the subject of both articles.  — AnnaKucsma   (Talk to me!) 19:03, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I'll do it since I doubt there will be any objections. Boccobrock 03:39, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling of middle name[edit]

An editor has altered Edward Schroeder Prior to Edward Schroder Prior without giving a cited reason. This made the spelling inconsistent with the name of the page. I have reverted to the established form until such time as a consensus has been reached. Nedrutland (talk) 16:15, 27 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The correct spelling is Edward Schröder Prior. Would someone please change the oe into ö. The correct spelling is Schröder, not Schroeder - just copy and paste it. Here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/History-Gothic-Art-England/dp/137550780X
Please sign and date your posts by typing four tildes (~ x4).
Schroeder / Schröder / Schroder are each used. For example, his birth is registered as Edward Schröder Prior but his marriage as Edward Schroder Prior; his death as Edward S. Prior but the probate notice has Edward Schroder Prior. A Google search gives most results for the form Edward Schroeder Prior so I incline to keeping the article as it is.
Compare the example of Göring / Goering. Göring is the German spelling, but the name is commonly transliterated Goering in English, using oe to replace the o-umlaut in the German spelling. Nedrutland (talk) 17:08, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
