To Do[edit]

Sources?[edit]

Although it seems to be largely factually correct as far as it goes, this article seems to be almost completely devoid of any references or sources. It needs updating badly.

There are also some quite outrageous statements, e.g. "Greece is the birthplace of democracy so it's usual that every Greek has to get used to the use of democracy from an early age." Greek schools a bastion of democracy? Try asking Greeks what they think of their public schools. StefanosPavlos (talk) 17:01, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seemingly outrageous or dubious statements aside, this article needs a lot of additional citations. There are only ~5; far too few for an article of this length.--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 02:58, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant photos[edit]

Some of photos illustrating the article have no real connection to the subject. The National Library of Greece may considered connected to the subject only in a quite broad sense. The French School at Athens is a foreing research institution active in Greece (an archaeological institute, providing post-graduate scholarships as well), that totally depends on the French state. The Danish Institute at Athens is a cultural organization -that also supports students from Denmark visiting Greece for further studies etc.- under the direction of the Danish Emabassy at Athens. ——Chalk19 (talk) 08:43, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There is a problem with the greek translation[edit]

Education in Greece#Criticism and controversies[edit]

Boy, this needs some context in all its accusations: Are the transgressions more severe than in other (developed) countries? By how much? Sources? Also, there are quite some sources given to show as how corrupt Greece as a whole is perceived (not necessarily IS), but mostly they fail to connect to education specifically. So I removed one BBC source claiming Greece being moderately open to bribes (9 % perception compared to over 40 % perception in other European countries, and being at the same level with, say, Austria) - but in the healthcare system! Seriously, the whole chapter needs to be looked at thoroughly ... -- marilyn.hanson (talk) 03:15, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
