Notability Requirements[edit]

Salukk (talk) 09:48, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.[1]
  • The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity.

Name?[edit]

The last name is rendered variously as AlKetbi, Al Ketbi and Al-Ketbi. Which of these might be the (most) correct one? --DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:46, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for your question. Arabic names, like other names, can be written in multiple ways. Usually, I would write it as Al Ketbi, but there's no wrong or right way in writing it. Salukk (talk) 12:30, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I appreciate that. Would be nice to write it consistently, though. Throughout the main body text it's rendered as Al-Ketbi, so it's not clear why it's different in the infobox, or in the article name for that matter. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:42, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DoubleGrazing: it looks like Al-Ketbi is used throughout the article. (I fixed a misplaced hyphen.) It seems like it might be easiest to change the article name to Al-Ketbi & redirect from AlKetbi. I'm not sure how to do that. Could you do it or tell me how? QuakerSquirrel (talk) 12:37, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @QuakerSquirrel: yes, that (hyphenated version) seems to be the prevalent form also in the sources (all bar one), so I'll move this to that rendering for the sake of consistency.--DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:36, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
