Cleanup work[edit]

Hoo boy, does this article need some cleanup. -It's not NPOV -the overview needs to have those bad image files fixed, the quotes are unencyclopedic and should be removed, the whole thing sounds too promotional, and goes into too much detail of the first episode -Praise for the soundtrack needs to be cut out, not NPOV -character bios seem alright, but could be trimmed a bit

Also, the pages for the Arjuna soundtracks are very sparse with no real info. They should probably be deleted, and merged into this page.

I can probably do this cleanup myself, but any help or suggestions would be nice. --Marcg106 03:43, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My edits[edit]

I have done a major revision to this article. That is, I kinda rewrote the whole thing from scratch (well, there's a few lines left from the old version). I removed the images of the characters, as they'd been readded still without rationale for fair use (though mostly cause they really didn't fit). I liked the first one though, so I wrote a rationale for it myself. The page is definately shorter now, but it also reads like an article, rather than a review. I have also added some commentary on the themes of the show, taken from the creator/director in an interview he did. Overall, I feel I've cited everything more than adequately, and as it covers every major facet of the series, I'm self-promoting it to a B-class article. There's still some missing I'm sure, minor characters, etc. But it's acceptable now anyway. If there's anything else anyone wants, let me know here and I'll see what I can do. -Goldom (t) (Review) 09:42, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Still to do[edit]

  • Better explanation of the ending and last 3 episodes - ..uh, right now I can't even think how to summarize it on this bullet point, so I'll get back to that later.
  • Clean up the soundtrack pages which right now have no content.
  • ?

Argel1200 Edits[edit]

Earth Maiden Arjuna[edit]

In the Anime Legends complete collection it is called Earth Maiden Arjuna. Should the article be renamed to reflect this and have Earth Girl Arjuna redirect to here? Argel1200 20:54, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and moved the article to Earth Maiden Arjuna. That's the name used in all the subtitles, such as the ones showing the English translation of Japanese text on-screen and the name Bandai used before renaming it to just "Arjuna" . I also changed every reference in the article I could find (except the language references at the bottom). Argel1200 20:30, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updated DVD Cover[edit]

I updated the article to use the Anime Legends DVD box cover art. Argel1200 06:59, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy?[edit]

Was there actually an abortion shown in episode 9? I thought the baby was crying out because the mother (Juna's sister) was smoking a cigarette? Argel1200 07:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Having watched it again, it's clear abortion is a topic. Argel1200 (talk) 22:12, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

Would you like me to get pictures of the rest of the characters? Chris Hawkins, Cindy, Tokio,etc..71.142.214.138 (talk) 05:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Cardinal Raven[reply]

No thank you, the article has enough non-free images. AnmaFinotera (talk) 06:31, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then would you rather me grab a better picture of the two pictures you have. Since they look very fuzzy and not so clean. You now the same images just better quality?71.142.214.138 (talk) 03:56, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Cardinal Raven[reply]

Better quality images would certainly be nice...those are rather bad aren't they. A better group image would be even better though. Something with Juna, Chris, and Cindy at the least, if possible. AnmaFinotera (talk) 04:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All right. But you'll never see that group happening. I watched that anime and they are alway solo. I can do Cindy and Arjuna or Tokio and Arjuna. One or the other. But there is no real way to get all three together unless I would want to replace it with the other crappy pictures with other crappy pictures. But we want the best quality don't we?71.142.214.138 (talk) 05:54, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Cardinal Raven[reply]

Ah...been awhile since I've watched it, so couldn't remember who all was on frame together. Just replacing the current one with a better quality, non-fuzzy one is fine then :) AnmaFinotera (talk) 06:09, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
can you not just have a row of Pictures cropped and stuck together to have a "group" photo 124.177.68.130 (talk) 11:19, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additional review[edit]

User:Ubanteux has suggested this review of the show to be added in the external links. I have removed this review for three reasons:

  • There are already 3 reviews of the show
  • The website the review is on is not notable
  • Possible WP:COI violation (Review written by Ursula Banteux)

Could someone who's more familiar with the show read and evaluate the article, and comment on whether it should be added? --Twinzor Say hi! - Do I suck or rock? 23:26, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further browsing of the site gives the impression it could be thought of as a blog when it comes to WP guidelines, as it seems anyone can submit an article, and thus should not be included. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one! --Twinzor Say hi! - Do I suck or rock? 23:39, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fukuoka Masanobu[edit]

I always thought the old man in episode 4 was a very obvious reference to this pioneer of natural farming, especially considering the old age of that character was similar to the age of Fukuoka himself at the time of this anime's production. Might be worthy of notice if proper sources can be found. 89.172.52.179 (talk) 17:26, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Themes section[edit]

Under the themes section appeared the line "The show contains some very scientific and current elements which include the pole shift hypothesis, the Van Allen Belt, Fermat's Last Theorem, etc." None of these fit the description of "very scientific and current", and thus the line has been removed. 165.122.10.129 (talk) 07:55, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
