About realase dates[edit]

removed "kernel = microkernel"[edit]

removed "kernel = microkernel" as it's obviously not true of an OS/2 derivitive. can't verify the rest.

Yes, no microkernel. AFAIK only OS/2s PPC port had a microkernel.

Fair use rationale for Image:EComStation.png[edit]

Image:EComStation.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Image does not show retail product[edit]

The image shown is for the eComStation Demo CD (a free live CD based on the eComStation 1.2 codebase), not for the eComStation retail OS. There are various differences in the desktop appearance and layout. Closed source only?[edit]

the article itsef say that eCS use JFS released under GPL by IBM, unles this JFs is a developer apart fomr the JFS released under GLP and the acpi reference is wrong I thin tha a 'Closed source whit open source components" any can confirm that those component are licenced under Open Source licences (or even if are, if the Distibutor page ofer the source if theyare GPL like JFS) and the link for comprobablility and if other are the only one componend in the last release 2 is need, any can copnfirm that if those aren not the sma — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.65.161.207 (talk) 20:53, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

eComStation is shipped with both the original JFS (Closed source) and the later Bottable JFS (Open source), the installer normally installs the open source variant unless you ask it 51.9.80.120 (talk) 22:51, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Limitations[edit]
