Open world[edit]

In the infobox under "genre", I'd put "open world" alongside "hack and slash", as its open world nature has been referred to several times in marketing. However, this has been removed twice now by different users, and I do not want to cause an edit war. As the game isn't out yet, it's hard to tell if its open world elements are significant enough to fall under this genre, but as they have been using the term a lot as a selling point, I see no reason not to list the game as an open world genre at this point. Even if they promoting the open world environment of DW9, but "open world" is not a game genre. It is a type of environment the game is offering. You can add more details of the open world in the development section Pure conSouls (talk) 12:07, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Are we sure this is the right image? I can't read Japanese, so forgive me if I'm missing something, but the number "8" is featured pretty prominently , and "9" is not, despite being Dynasty Warriors 9. Sergecross73 msg me 15:20, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Japanese titles are always one number behind because the first Dynasty Warriors game is called Sangokumusō and every other game following is part of the Shin Sangokumusō series. For whatever reason when they released Dynasty Warriors 2 in the west, Koei just bunged it and all its sequels into the Dynasty Warriors series. You can read more on the Dynasty Warriors article. Interesting. I did not know that one. I haven't played any of the games yet, but I've had to deal with similar continuity/naming issues like that with other Japanese to English game series like Final Fantasy and Tales, so I understand how that happens sometimes. Localisation[edit]

I recently watched the latest trailer and it sounds like Xiahou Dun and Cao Cao have different voices. Upon some Googling, it would seem that the dubbing of the game has been handled by VOXX Studios rather than VoiceGroup, but I cannot find official confirmation anywhere. I have found various forum links discussing the changes (here, here, here, and here), but I know these can't be used as references. IMDb also notes the changes, but in this case is also not a reliable source. I have for now placed a {{fact}} tag until (I hope) a reliable source confirms this.
