Administrative Censored Links Unfair and Only Benifit Preferred Companies

I have found that some administrators have removed content from the dune buggy category in the form of Administrative Censored Links that are Unfair for Preferred Companies. Our Contribution we added is “Axel Styles” and we also added our Link to External Links.

The following links are allowed to be in the External Links category but when we added our link it was systematically removed unfairly. I believe that External Links should be anything that closely relates to the specific topic. In this case we have a special interest group of administrators that want to restrict the links for there own reasons that are bios and unfair.

Our link http://www.bcbuggy.com/ is not allowed for what reasons? Our link contains the best video and pictures available and is specifically about Dune Buggies for recreation. We cannot hide the fact that we rent the Dune Buggy as a small hobby business venture.

Here the administrators allow *Dune Buggy Manufacturer (http://www.motormaxpowersports.com/) whom is a Retailer trying to promote direct sales through the use of their link. This seems to be allowed. And then we also have * AwesomeBuggy.com who also promotes Sales through the use of their link.

Here's the proof that one needs to determine the Censorship and Bios factors of the Administrators that remove our link unfairly. I believe that some of these individuals are self appointed editors that Kill the spirit of Wikipedia and drive people away from using the resource.

Here are the allowed links including the allowed spam links. Is this Bios Censorship? Check out the links and see for yourself.

This page is very poor and looks like it could use a new editor

This page is woefully inadequate, particularly the very first paragraph... I'd like to join this editing team and although I'm quite novice with Wiki I hope I can help things out...

A dune buggy is a recreational vehicle with small wheels, and thin tires, designed for use on water dunes or beaches. The design is usually a heavy vehicle with a modified engine mounted on an open chassis. They are also often referred to as air buggies, and those with an open frame chassis are called sandrails.

I am very involved in the dune buggy industry and this paragraph makes absolutely no sense to me. I've never heard a "dune buggy" called an "air buggy"... A dune buggy usually has WIDE tires, not thin and is usually lightened up as much as possible... not HEAVY

Dune buggy and sandrail are often used interchangably, though a "sandrail" usually refers to a purposely built vehicle from scratch where "dune buggy" can, in this context, mean an altered auto/vehicle (not built from scratch)

The "dune" portion of dune buggy refers to the "sand dunes" ... not "water dunes". Sand dunes exist on beaches, deserts, mountains and many other places.

Fair use rationale for Image:Surviver.JPG

Image:Surviver.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Advertising your buggy building company

This article seems to be particularly attractive to people wishing to add links to companies that build or sell buggies. Please don't. Wikipedia is not the right place to attempt to advertise or improve your Google rating and the links will be speedily deleted according to WP:SPAM. Dino246 00:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

New article?

Hi. I'm new to Wikipedia and I would like to post an article about my parents' company Berrien Buggy, Inc., similar to the existing Meyers Manx article, because I feel that it is relevant to record the historical signifigance of the contribution that this company has made to the world of Volkswagen based off-road and street legal vehicles over the last 39 years of operation. I understand that since my parents own the company some may feel that I have a conflict of interest but my plan is to write a neutral history of the company with citations of articles that have been published by magazines and newspapers that cover the off-road industry. The purpose of this article is not to serve as an advertisment for the company but to record the facts of how the company was started and the history of its growth and contributions over the years. I believe that I can write this article without over emphasizing the company's importance or products and would welcome additions to the article by others who are knowledgeable about the company and its products.

I am posting here for the advice of the editors to see if they feel this is something that is relevant to Wikipedia and, if so, what categories it is acceptable to link to. There are many existing Wikipedia articles that are related and could be linked to an article about this company such as off-road vehicles, sandrails, Meyers Manx buggies, dune buggies, off-road racing, etc. I look forward to your advice regarding how to proceed with this article.

Thanks.

Pop culture section

I performed a cull on the pop culture section as it was getting out of hand and turning into a comprehensive list of every film, song, or computer game containing a dune buggy. It can probably be reduced further but I didn't want to go all unilateral and remove things just because I didn't personally consider them significant. I think that for inclusion in this (in any case dubious) section, the dune buggy needs to have had a significant notable role or be something deeply ingrained on popular culture (such as the Thomas Crown Affair scene) such that it had an impact on the very image and market of the dune buggy. What happend to a section on Beach Buggys. When searching for beach buggy i get redirected to dune buggy, which is more of a pipe car or sandmaster than anything else. Dune buggy is a general name that applies to many offroad buggys used on Dunes and isnt owned or patented by a single company or person! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.44.148.250 (talk) 10:48, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
