Untitled[edit]

The reasons for Drona's refusal to teach Ekalavya are not entirely accurate. Drona refused to teach Ekalavya due to the latter's caste, and not out of any fear that he would lead an army to attack the "Indo-Aryan" kings or would threaten the Vedic religion. -- Subravenkat. June 02, 2006.

You are wrong. It is not a caste based story. It was simply because Eklavya was a nishada, son of Harinyadhanu. Enemy of Hastinapura. 182.68.209.15 (talk) 00:49, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

why such ugly pictures ? why not take them from ISKCON or comic books ?[edit]

One pic is from Sister Nivedita! LOL! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.61.11.167 (talk) 17:30, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because of Copyright policy, we can't use ISKCON books as well as comics. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 05:55, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why India-Intro reference was killed[edit]

I request editor SpacemanSpiff to help me explain that why is he deleting an important reference from India-intro. I did not find violation of any wikipedia policies in it, may be this respected editor could help me understand it better.--DawnOfTheBlood (talk) 06:26, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Drona being portryed in Negative Light[edit]

He is not a negative character. He is one of the most positive characters in the whole Mahabharata. His downfall is because of his support and loyalty to kingdom of Hastinapura. The kingdom of hastinapura was pursuing wrong ends by submitting to desires of the corrupt duryodhana. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.64.218.189 (talk) 06:19, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Accented text[edit]

Why are so many names in the accented text? This appears to be unusual when looking at other Wikipedia articles, and even articles involving Hindu mythology. I think we should just use plain English. Opinions/Thoughts? Pinkfloyd11 (talk) 09:05, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fake references problem[edit]

Removed contents which are provided with fake reference in Analysis and Modern Assessment heading. The reference "Brodbeck, Simon. The Mahābhārata Patriline: Gender, Culture, and the Royal Hereditary. Farnham, England: Ashgate, 2009. Print" does not support any of the content in that particular section. Yesterday I removed these contents after checking the Google books page for this particular book. See link [[1]]

An editor yesterday reverted my edits. As of today I am undoing that edit and pointing this out in the Talk page. If I made a mistake please notify me in my Talk page.

Please note the edit history back at the time when this fake reference was added. See link [[2]]. Its surprising and painful to see users adding fake references to support their cause

Cut back[edit]

Please read WP:V, WP:RS and WP:PRIMARY. Yes, as a work of fiction there would be scope for a plot summary based on a primary source but (a) we had chapter and verse (sic) here, not a summary; and (b) I am constantly being told that it isn't fiction.

There are modern academic books which discuss/portray Hindu deities. Please use them. - Sitush (talk) 19:59, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
