Citation NOT Needed?[edit]

In the article the author states, "Isaiah 58:13-14 speaks out against travel during Shabbat." Someone has added the notation of [citation needed]. Since the source is stated within the sentence, I don't feel that a citation is required, unless it would be to cite the Torah itself. Wouldn't the books of the Torah and Christian Bible be considered general knowledge? My comment is more of a question than a suggestion, I suppose. 22:24, 1 February 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by EssieBea (talkcontribs)

"... public funding of religious education is justified" why?[edit]

Sorry, I don't understand this: "Part of the reason public funding of religious education is justified is that part of the population views it as "sinful" to drive on Shabbat, and is annoyed by those who drive through their neighborhoods on the Shabbat." And the book linked through at the reference doesn't clarify it for me, unless I'm missing something. Can someone explain this? thanks.--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 02:40, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The book says somthing very different, mor in the lines of

"Part of the reason public closure of some street in heavily religious populated neighborhoods is justified is that part of the population views it as "sinful" to drive on Shabbat and it can be considered like a social service for a population minority. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.156.46.210 (talk) 11:31, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reform Judaism[edit]

"Reform Judaism, which traditionally follows little, if any, halakha" - this is both broad and, as far as I can tell, untrue. If no one objects I'll attempt to edit the descriptions of the main movements so they're a little more accurate and usefully descriptive. Kilburn London (talk) 22:00, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've made this change now. Kilburn London (talk) 12:25, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
