Craisins® brand dried cranberries is a registered trademark of the Ocean Spray cooperative, and since it has not been ruled as genericized by any court of the United States, Craisins should redirect here.

But a distinction should be made, because the Craisins product has sugar/cornsyrup/some artificial sweetener added to it, right? So really, they are candied dried cranberries. -Fsotrain09 11:32, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definite advert[edit]

I've tagged this as an advert because it's presently almost exclusively a plug for Craisins, rather than talking about dried cranberry as a general topic. Nutritional info is definitely way too specific, and I've removed that, but the article still reads like an ad, and definitely wants a lot of work. Could someone who's actually eaten the stuff have a shot at putting in some text? :)

The article definitely has promise, though. I'd just rather read something about the topic, not the product. Rosuav (talk) 18:54, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this was too much an article originally made to favour Craisins. It still does with that Chefs Best award since companies have to pay a fee for that endorsement. The Craisins product indicates on its product packaging the following things: no vitamin A and that it contains no appreciable amounts of Vitamin C. Evidently those nutrients are either removed or destroyed by the Ocean Spray production process. Despite having some fiber value, the sugar-infused Craisins are basically a high-calorie sugary snack with carbohydrate comprising 30 grams of a 40 gram (1/3 cup) serving with sugar being 26 grams. Examination of the Craisins looks like they were all crushed and spin-dried to remove the cranberry juice before the sugar and a light-coating of vegetable oil was added to the remnants. I need to find this in some 3rd party publication since some of this could be considered original research on my part.AnimeJanai (talk) 13:58, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In addition I can't be arsed to learn about how to edit wikipedia appropriately to correct this shit but there is a definite advert at the bottom, re: cranberries covered in chocolate. See source #15. It does sound fkn delicious tho. 50.14.220.163 (talk) 02:59, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
