Why I believe this article is notable[edit]

I just wanted to put a message on here in anticipation of anyone trying to redirect this article to That's the Spirit. I believe that "Doomed" is notable enough to have its own article on Wikipedia, and here is why:

  • Firstly, as you can clearly see from the content and sources I have posted on the article, there has been enough independent coverage of the song to warrant the creation of an article. Sure, many of these sources are merely reviews of the album in which they are likely to mention the song, but more attention is given to "Doomed" than, say, "Avalanche" or any other non-single.
  • Secondly, the song achieved some significant chart positions. Sure, every single track on the album charted in the UK, but "Doomed" was the highest charting, and it also charted in the States as well. This I believe makes it notable enough in its own right to warrant an article.
  • Finally, the song has played an important part in the band's history. This is of course more subjective and questionable, but I propose that "Doomed", as the opening track on the band's clear foray into mainstream rock from metalcore (or whatever you want to call it), is important in understanding the band's development. I have tried to cover this in the article. Many critics have seen it as the clear sign of this shift.

Anyway, I am happy to discuss this issue further if anyone believes this article should be brutally murdered. Thanks for taking the time to read! Andre666 (talk) 09:42, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Genres[edit]

Does anyone have reliable sources to what genre this song is? I would think it's electronic rock, but I don't have any sources to back that up. If anyone can find a good source with a genre of it, please let me know.Quilladin206 (talk) 20:57, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
