Vietnamese Season is a person??[edit]

According to this article as it stands, "Dong (name), Vietnamese for the season of winter" falls under the category "People". Per Be Bold I am moving it to the section named "Asian Languages" --Sauronjim (talk) 17:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The DONG (Do Online Now Guys) issue[edit]

Any vsaucer here?[edit]

what about the DONG series from Vsauce in youtube? ¨DONG, Do Online Now Guys¨ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.120.11.80 (talk) 23:26, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

the Do Online Now Guys case[edit]

Obviously there is a lot of want for the mention considering the editing pressure and even Michael himself being honoured by his inclusion in the disambiguation page. Obviously nobody on wikipedia has ever heard of having a sense of humour or any fun. This doesn't make the site worse, nor does it affect the editorial quality of the site. Thus, I am going to include the DONG mention in this.

Also, for the people saying it's not notable, the channel has millions of views on average per video and has a decent amount of subscribers, as well as having notable hosts. HarryKernow (talk to me) 18:22, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:WTAF. Unless and until the channel is determined to be notable and there is an article describing it, it will not be mentioned at Dong. General Ization Talk 18:26, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It has a mention on the Vsauce wiki page so I'm re-adding it. I see no reason to remove it now that it has its own wiki page. Have a sense of humour in the future, we're all humans, not robots. HarryKernow (talk to me) 20:44, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Removing again. It needs its own article, dude. — 🦊 07:09, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Read MOS:DABMENTION, dude. 93 (talk) 01:15, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@93:Read "If a topic does not have an article of its own, but is mentioned within another article, then a link to that article should be included. In this case, the link does not start the line, but it should still be the only blue wikilink. " (Wikipedia:Disambiguation_pages#Items_appearing_within_other_articles) Your edit does not follow this rule, the article it links to is not "Do Online Now Guys", but instead "VSauce". "VSauce" only has a section about it, the entire article is not about "Do Online Now Guys".
Second thing is that "Do Online Now Guys", has been the second to big reason why this page was protected, the first reson is probably known in the slang term. It has been repeatedly removed and placed in a cycle. I am probably sure that there has been a discussion about this in the past, maybe somewhere else other than this talk page.
Lastly, even if it is to stay it needs to be fixed with the allowed format as stated in the quote. Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 02:02, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would think your first point misinterprets an explanation of an example for a rule. Look at MOS:DABREDIR that suggests creating Delta Quadrant as a section redirect when the "title of that section is more or less synonymous with the disambiguated topic." I have requested clarification at the MOS/DAB talk.
Your second point is neither here nor there. There is no reason not to include Do Online Now Guys if it is mentioned and well referenced, per MOS:DABMENTION. If an obscure Croatian gay rights organisation mentioned in one sentence at LGBT rights in Croatia is kept at Ligma there's no reason to not mention something with an entire section devoted to it. 93 (talk) 03:41, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@93:I changed it to the way it should be. I should have explained more in detail why I was trying to state that my version of how it should be displayed is more correct. According to the information provided at the DONG section on the VSauce page, DONG is a Spin-off (media) which means it is not synonymous with VSauce. Thus there must be something that implies the "Do Online Now Guys" YouTube channel is a spin-off from VSauce, if it is to be mentioned in the disambiguation page. It even mentions that it was "...formally featured on the main VSauce channel...", meaning it is not part of the VSauce channel anymore, thus is not as synonymous with VSauce. You should only have one wikilink per entry per MOS:DAB. I've changed it back to my previous revision and added "and a spinoff of VSauce"; hopefully that satisfies your concern. 93 (talk) 21:23, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
