Any explanation about where the name comes from?
The Euro spec BMW E30 M3 and some Volvos have dogleg transmisions
not just performance cars[edit]
the dog-leg layout goes way back, my 1972 Renault 4 had a dogleg 4 speed box. I can assure you it was nothing to do with performance, maybe manufacturing economy. 84.70.207.16 (talk) 10:13, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
