Major revision

This was a good article once, and then a number of editors filled it with gossip and fan gush. I have pruned it once more, removing unreferenced claims and toning down claims re his supposed romance with Madhubala. Mr. Kumar is still alive and we have to be extra-careful in what we say. Article is in need of complete clean up

Article is in need of a complete clean up, ranging from basic removal of WP:PEACOCK fluffery to the substantial failing of having completely inadequate sourcing of facts. Active Banana (talk) 14:10, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Why is Asma listed as his wife still

It's a known fact that Dilip kumar divorced Asma in 2 years after marriage. And she being the second wife should be listed at the second place and Saira Banu comes first. 24.27.110.132 (talk) 12:00, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Correction of ethnicity

Corrected ethnicity according to the following reliable published source:

  • "Dilip Kumar, was born on December 11, 1922 as Muhammad Yusuf Khan, in Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar, Pakistan, in a Pashtun househole of twelve children" (Great Muslims of undivided India, by Nikhat Ekbal [1])--Fareed30 (talk) 23:48, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

What is the source for this information? (Wikipedia articles cannot claim that a film is a "flop", since that is a point of view, so that particular wording cannot be used.) --bonadea contributions talk 18:59, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Himanshu Rai

Removed Himanshu Rai’s name from this section: Early Life: ‘In 1943, actress Devika Rani, and her husband Himanshu Rai who owned Bombay Talkies spotted Dilip Kumar in Aundh military canteens Pune’. Himanshu Rai died in 1940. Kaayay (talk) 08:44, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Change

Hello, I have made a basic change to one category i.e. removed 'Punjabi people '; and added 'Hindkowan people' instead. Dilip sahib belongs to the Awan (tribe) classified as Punjabi generally in the Punjab etc but considered as Hindkowans/Hindko-speakers in Peshawar and Hazara areas. Hence, they are generally referred to as Hindkowans in these belts/zones, and I have rectified this thanks. 39.54.14.53 (talk) 08:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Hilda Khan

He has to self-identify his tribal/caste origins. The sources did not show that. - Sitush (talk) 07:24, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
