The article does the reader a disservice by failing to mention that "Desmostachya bipinnata Stapf is an official drug of ayurvedic pharmacopoeia, belongs to the family of Poaceae/Gramineae. The various parts of this plant were used extensively in Indian traditional and folklore medicine to cure various human ailments like wounds, asthma, thirst, jaundice, vaginal discharges, vesicle calculi, diseases of bladder and skin eruptions, also used as analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic etc. "
