Article name[edit]

The current article name strikes me as a little strange. I think that 'focal depth' is preferable to 'depth of focus' and the discipline should be 'seismology' rather than 'tectonics', so I would suggest moving this article to Focal depth (seismology). I tend to agree, or maybe just Earthquake focal depth or some such to avoid the parenthetical bit. Vsmith (talk) 23:29, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I reckon that just focal depth would be OK as the lens optics related article is depth of focus. Mikenorton (talk) 12:34, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That would work with a dab for optics at the top. Vsmith (talk) 14:31, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see that the current article was redirected to this name from the original Deep focus earthquake and most incoming links target the original page title, so we will need to take that into account after any move. Mikenorton (talk) 19:29, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
With the current title it would be necessary to merge the article in Hypocenter or merge in Deep-focus earthquake.--PePeEfe (talk) 06:55, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
