First child[edit]
From the Antarctica article:
- The first child born in Antarctica was a Norwegian girl born on British-claimed territory, Solveig Gunbjörg Jacobsen. She was born in Grytviken on October 8, 1913, and was registered by the resident British Magistrate of South Georgia.
This girl's birth predates the one this article claims as the first by 65 years. Am I missing something? -VJ 07:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

- Now it says "southern polar region" instead of "Antarctica". The article continue that other children were the first born on the Antarctic mainland. - DavidWBrooks 10:24, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Indigenous Language?[edit]
Why would Russian be indigenous? Why would any language be considered indigenous to Antarctica if no people are? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.161.165.22 (talk) 05:00, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
- You're completely right. The same applies to the phrase 'official language', in my humble opinion. As no part of Antarctica belongs to any country (all claims are stalled since the Antarctica Treaty), there can be no official languages. Bever (talk) 03:24, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

population totals[edit]
In the chart for population by "Nation", is it possible to insert a row with automatically summed totals, as in a spreadsheet?Mathyeti (talk) 17:40, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Chart is so outdated it should be removed[edit]
The very large chart of population by country is more than 20 years old right now, very out of date. It also gives no source - where do those numbers come from? As a result, I'd like to remove it as a spur to finding more recent data. What do people think? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 17:52, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
