Hi. I'll be reviewing this article which is currently up for Good Article Nomination. I'll have my review complete by this evening. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 13:19, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay, this was an unusually long..."evening"? Anyways, I only have a few minor concerns with the article that I would like to have addressed before I pass it.

  • Lede
    • Add the date to the satellite image caption
    • Add Mid-Atlantic United States to the areas affected in the infobox
    • "Overall, the storm caused between $1–2 billion in damage (1992 USD)..." – I read this as "the storm caused between one to two billion..." which doesn't sound right. Could you reword to fix this? It also appears in the impact section.

        • It's the same thing but spelled out now. "Between one to two" doesn't sound right....I could be reading it wrong though. It's not that big of a deal so I just put it back to what it was originally. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 19:16, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Meteorological history
    • "A storm complex moved eastward from the Texas coast into Georgia on December 9 and into the following day." – moved into where there following day?
      • I actually meant December 9 and 10th, but that's not needed. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • "On December 9, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a coastal flood watch in anticipation of the developing storm." – where was the watch issued for?
    • "On December 11, the NWS issued gale warnings and advised for boats to avoid the ocean." – where again?
  • Impact
    • "The storm's widespread snowfall ranked it as the equivalence of a Category 2, or "significant", on the newly devised Regional Snowfall Index scale." – was the scale new at the time or was it created in the past few years?
      • I meant to say that the scale was made after the storm, but I removed the "newly" part due to the confusion. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • "About 19,000 people were evacuated in six towns in Monmouth County. Statewide, about 2,000 people in 20 towns had to be evacuated by helicopter or National Guard truck." – how were fewer people evacuated statewide than in one county?
      • Because the statewide bit is about people being evacuated by truck or helicopter. Otherwise, people evacuated normally. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Overall I enjoyed reading the article and it's close to GA. Just as a note, if you're looking at going further with the article, there are several places where the prose will need rewording (there are several instances where the same term is used in many consecutive sentences). Once the above concerns are addressed I'll be happy to pass the article. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 12:26, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yay! Hope it's good now. That was a long evening, btw. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm overlooking one of my comments since I'm unsure of how important it really is (or if my suggestion even makes any sense). I'm passing the article, nice job! Cyclonebiskit (talk) 19:16, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
