Is there really a need for this page?[edit]

Considering that Real Estate (band) already has an entry that includes albums information in its discography? It seems to be a clear violation of WP:NOTPROMOTION.

We should delete this, and concentrate on improving main Real Estate entry.--DR998 (talk) 17:55, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I fail to see the problem. There's been an article on their first album for two years, the band is notable, this release is notable. Gamaliel (talk) 23:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am not saying the band isn't notable, or that the release isn't notable. All I'm saying is I think this info about the album doesn't merit an entry, when we could put this in the band's page, and make it more appealing content wise. Why did you remove the deletion template without even letting others comment on it? Playing god around Wikipedia? --DR998 (talk) 16:34, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Playing god? That's a bit hysterical. The template says "You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason." It also says "However, please explain why you object to the deletion, either in your edit summary or on the talk page." I have explained here on this page, and others are free to comment here as well. This is all standard procedure. Gamaliel (talk) 16:42, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article should stay. I like articles about individual albums as they feature useful detail that isn't appropriate for a discography, such as specific information about all of the album's songs and production notes. I also like having the links to album reviews.Ww adh77 (talk) 15:38, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
