Personal life[edit]

Apparently he hasn't any!  ;-) Which would be a serious deficit in a novelist, methinks … However, he was quite forthcoming in a conversation published in my copy of One Day, whose cover shows that it was printed after the film was made (2011 or so). He tells us, quoting Kingsley Amis, that all novels are autobiographical to the extent that the characters can't have a thought that the the author didn't have; and lets us know that some of his friends' witty sayings necessarily crop up in the book. Still this is all a primary source, and doesn't meet WP:RS, does it ? Does anybody have useful sources on his personal life? yoyo (talk) 01:43, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
