Scottish Parliament[edit]

The claims about his service in the Parliament of Scotland and the Convention of the Estates seem very doubtful. In 1689 he would have been 19, thus unlikely to be old enough to serve in Convention. I would suggest he is being confused with his father, also David Erskine of Dun. The article on the Forfarshire constituency also suggests that the David Erskine who served in this period died in office in 1698, which if correct would again point to Lord Dun's father being the Forfarshire representative rather than the subject of this article.
