primary sources[edit]

Such as court records and the like are barred as sources per WP:BLP and WP:RS. Videos should have transcripts to prevent misuse as sources. Collect (talk) 17:52, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree if by court records you mean pleadings and such, but there's nothing wrong with citing the judgment of a court. As to films and videos, you are incorrect. A non-fiction film can be cited as a secondary source similarly to a non-fiction book. In neither case does Wikipedia require the cited work to be available over the Internet or available gratis. Mathew5000 (talk) 20:27, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Judgements have specifically been found not to meet WP:RS in prior discussions at RS/N. A video which is not verifiable is problematic - note that WP:RS says it must be "archived" somewhere to be checkable. Like text sources, media sources must be produced by a reliable third party and be properly cited. Additionally, an archived copy of the media must exist. Collect (talk) 21:43, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(1) Court judgments are frequently used as sources in Wikipedia articles; in general I see nothing wrong with it, and I am unaware of the prior discussions you refer to. (2) An “archived copy” of The Queen of Versailles does exist: the DVD. Mathew5000 (talk) 05:28, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Read the dang discussions on using court records in BLPs then. If you wish to change the Wikipedia policy, do so on the policy talk page. And the reason archived copies are required is to prevent falsifification of "quotes" or using them "out of context" which has been a major problem in the past on many Wikipedia articles. And taking material out of context is a really big issue. Collect (talk) 12:59, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is no issue with including remarks Siegel himself said in an interview on The Queen of Versailles, a documentary that is available and readily accessible. I agree with Mathew here and found the exclusion of this information rather bizarre. Bastique ☎ call me! 05:55, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How do you prevent misquotation or taking of material out of context? Collect (talk) 12:59, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Poor Siegel is a poor ashkenazi jew[edit]

So as a member of the "synagoge of satan" (Book of Revelation) it's Siegels natural feeling and order to torture "unjewish" people. He hates mankind and "unjewish" people. Easy to see in his complete disrespectful behaviour in real life and the "Queen of Versailles" documentary. Absolut regular behaviour of how a "chosen" jew treats no-jews. Just pray for forgiveness for this poor, unhappy imitator of a man.--85.197.29.102 (talk) 20:24, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, the Wikipedia has strict rules about living people WP:BLP and strict rules about sources WP:CITE. So, even if Siegel is a terrible cheapskate psychopathic human being running a massive pyramid scheme that will ultimately defraud and screw over every timeshare customer, that can't be put on his web page until someone bothers to find credible published sources. Jeff Carr (talk) 03:29, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Just saw the "Queen of Versailles" on Australian TV. A character analysis is probably not so interesting here except of course for those people who have been wronged. (I have been wronged, and certainly have the same feelings about some people.) What was relevant in the video was his admission about getting Bush (not Gore) elected and him refusing to give details, saying it may not have been legal, or words very close to that. If anybody watches that movie and could quote verbatim (it's in the first 30 minutes from my recollection), that would be good. He also said 'we mightn't have had the Iraq War'. I had heard some years ago that the 2000 Florida election manipulations by Siegel's were about Gore/Israel. 58.174.193.15 (talk) 12:04, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

David A. SiegelDavid Siegel – I understand wanting to disambiguate, but he is rarely referred to with his middle initial. 76.105.96.92 (talk) 21:56, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Oppose. This move can not be carried out in any case, because there is already a disambiguation page at that title, and no suggestion to move that page has been made here, nor has any suggestion been made that this David Siegel is any more notable than any of the others on that page. If this person is rarely or never known by their middle initial, then I would support a move to David Siegel (entrepreneur), unless some evidence was presented that this David Siegel is substantially more likely to be the subject of a reader's search than all of the others combined. bd2412 T 12:29, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per BD2412. This person is not the primary topic for "David Siegel." Absent clear evidence that it is misleading or erroneous to use his middle initial, this is an acceptable way to disambiguate. Xoloz (talk) 16:42, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
