Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... Give the author some time to make the article better and search for a better reason. Otherwise name this victim in the according article about the helicopter crash.Royalrec (talk) 23:05, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Royalrec -- shaping up to be a redirect to 2017 Irish Coast Guard S-92 crash. Victimhood and tragedy do not confer notability as has long been established. But, OK, I'll wait, although I do not know (nor do you) that the article's creator has anything further to add, in which case. ... Quis separabit?
Strongly argue this article should not be deleted but kept. Made argument at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dara Fitzpatrick. IrishSpook (talk) 16:06, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"First female Irish pilot/captain"[edit]

I added this in after RTE shared it upon her death, but that honour belongs to Gráinne Cronin, who began piloting in January 1978 and became a captain in 1988 (ten years prior to Fitzpatrick), also per RTE. — Wyliepedia 11:51, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Who employed Fitzpatrick?[edit]

It is widely stated in the article that Fitzpatrick was a Coast Guard pilot. It seems, however, that she was employed by CHC Helicopter which provides helicopter services to the Coast Guard. [1] The article may need to be updated to reflect this employment arrangement. WWGB (talk) 00:27, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
