Untitled[edit]

Daniel Pullen was the first person from Alaska to be appointed to West Point. To that end, I had a question which perhaps someone may know the answer to. Are appointments to West Point strictly the prerogative of members of Congress? I note that the timing of his appointment coincided with the establishment of a congressional delegate for the then-District of Alaska. I haven't found a source which explicitly ties A to B in that regard, so I'm merely assuming that this was the case.

Then there's the matter of the gap which exists in trying to build content strictly on web scavenging versus seeking out other sorts of sources. His mother was far, far more notable than he was, but you just may have to pick up a book in order to realize that, as large portions of history haven't exactly migrated to the web that easily.
