Call out order[edit]

Could you please stop re-adding the call out order as it does not affect the result in any way and is not necessary as it is just a random list of names. Thanks. --MSalmon (talk) 15:39, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. It also gives information such as encore and the three couples in jeopardy at the end of the show (yes it does). It is not a purely random list as the couples are often called out in some sort of groupings.
I am going on record as being in favor of including the Call Out Order on this page.OLEF641 (talk) 07:41, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is not up for discussion, the call out order should NOT be included as it is pure trivia and has no effect on the outcome of the result. --MSalmon (talk) 08:38, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, wikipedia is about information, isn't it? It is about helping people to gain insight into something etc. So for me - from Germany because I can't watch the show- it would be interesting to have the call out order to know who was in jeopardy, how they were called out and who had the encore for the week. So I think it IS in fact good to have such a table. -- Psycho91 (talk) 18:26, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why is it not up for discussion? Is there some rule somewhere that states that Call Out Order is strictly forbidden in the world of Wikipedia? OLEF641 (talk) 00:41, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If we don't reintroduce the call-out order, could somebody at least put in a list with the persons who got the encores in the weeks? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Psycho91 (talkcontribs) 20:18, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I personally have no problem with the call out order table. I agree with OLEF. but i see where Msalmon is coming from as well. I personally am going to continue editing it as long as its there but I'm not going to be engaging in editing wars to get it back as that solves nothing. -- Tyler george6 (talk) 14:34, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Strictly doesn't have it on their individual series pages so why should DWTS? --MSalmon (talk) 14:48, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know there are several edits of mine that you keep erasing, in particular the summaries for each week that would normally appear underneath the judges scores box. You claim its not a rolling news site, but honestly, have you ever heard of a thing called consistency? All of the other DWTS pages from previous seasons have those summaries, so why should this one be any different? -- Tyler george6 (talk) 17:12, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Check previous seasons again. --MSalmon (talk) 17:21, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you went in and deleted the summaries for Season 13, only because I mentioned it. Thats ridiculous -- Tyler george6 (talk) 20:13, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dance schedule: Week 3[edit]

I think you don't have to put the Rumba as a dance established by the producers to be danced in week 3 (Week 3: Rumba or One unlearned dance (Personal Story/Most Memorable Year)). I supose the celebrities choose the song for their most memorable moment, and then the pro dancers and the producers decided which is the rhythm to dance according to the song. I think you should write only One unlearned dance (Personal Story/Most Memorable Year). NandoHough (talk) 18:57, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would check the ABC website to see what they say about the types of dances the stars will be dancing. Tyler george6 (talk) 22:48, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is important to list any dance each week that has not been danced in any previous week. That way you don't have to search the chart to see which dances were introduced each week. That the dance choice is driven in certain weeks by the choice of song doesn't change that a particular dance is first danced that week. I am going ahead and adding any new dances that were dance in weeks 3 and 4 as I believe it is useful information. OLEF641 (talk) 04:09, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can write it as it is written in the SCD page: "One Unlearned Dance (Including Rumba, Samba, Jive, Waltz and Foxtrot) (Personal Story/Most Memorable Year)" NandoHough (talk) 20:42, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But "One Unlearned Dance" implies something that other dancers have already done, so any dances that are being danced for the first time this season should be listed. OLEF641 (talk) 00:34, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see that the lists of dances have been gutted again -- If you want to take it to the extreme, there should never be anything but "One Unlearned Dance" listed for each week, as each week a star is dancing something they are learning for the first time. OLEF641 (talk) 18:56, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Call Out Order[edit]

Can you put the call-out order chart back!? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.77.2.199 (talk) 23:43, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please put back the call out order! PLEASE!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.93.78 (talk) 06:41, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bottom Two and Last Couple to Be Called Safe[edit]

I was a little confused about the difference between these two concepts and thought something could be done with the scoring chart concerning this. Bottom two would imply that the couple would be the last to be called safe, yes? Tyler george6 (talk) 04:52, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bottom Two refers to the two couples with the lowest combined score-vote total and thus the two couples that are nearest tto elimination whereas last to be called safe just implies that they are the last ones to be called safe not, that the not-eliminated couple has had the second-lowest combined total. Psycho91 (talk) 20:11, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How would one know whether or not a couple had the lowest combined total of votes/scores? We don't get the exact numbers from the show.. I feel like there should be just one universal color that specifies that they were the last to be called safe (the mint color). Tyler george6 (talk) 02:12, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Week 7[edit]

Jackie Evancho's page previously stated that she was scheduled to perform "Dark Waltz", not the Ave Maria. Can someone verify this? I changed it on Jackie's page for now, but TBH, that did not sound like the Ave Maria I know. CycloneGU (talk) 01:11, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I tuned in only to hear Jackie Evancho, I missed her performance during the first hour. Is there any way I can find it on the internet?1archie99 (talk) 01:36, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I imagine it'll be on Youtube eventually. Keep in mind this is a talk page about the article, however, and not a discussion forum. Head over to my talk page if you'd like once you find it, as I intend to bookmark it myself if it appears. CycloneGU (talk) 02:29, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
First she performed Schubert's version of "Ave Maria". Later, she performed "Dark Waltz". The guest stars should be credited here. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:54, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure whether it's standard for additional guest performances to be included on the performance list. I don't see a problem with it, but its addition would be different as there are no scorings for those. She is already credited on the performance number according to the current revision. CycloneGU (talk) 22:17, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's strange that there is no mention of Joshua Bell, a very famous violinist who performed on the show. Also, there should be more information about the terrific band and singers that perform every week. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:08, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More elaboration needed[edit]

For the week of year of my life dancing, we should list a brief summary of what/why they were dancing, this could be done for season 13's article too. Also for motown week the actual singers were on the show during the performance episode, this could mention as well as be placed into the musical performannce section.--Cooly123 01:17, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

This elaboration is not relevant to the focus of the page. Tyler george6 (talk) 02:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dances not danced[edit]

An editor added a statement about the dances that the three finalist never learned/performed. It is unsourced and probably no reliable sources discuss this. I think this is just trivial information that we don't need to add to the article. I had removed it once and the editor readded it, so I am bringing it up here. GB fan 19:20, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Now the latest is to add more trivia from the season.
It does not appear to me to be anything more than trivia. None of it is sourced and as far as I can find no reliable sources have discussed these things. GB fan 23:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
