I was creating a page for Quicken Loans and I saw that Dan Gilbert already had a page so I added links. If this is innopropriate and doesn't meet wikipedia standards, I can delete them.

For what it's worth, I agree that this is not a speedy deletion candidate at all. I won't remove the tag, but I encourage the next admin reading this to do so. Given the NBA team ownership, this would be a wp:afd case at most. The writing can be improved to rely less upon the Quicken Loans material, but that's a separate issue, really. Bedrock Incident[edit]

I want to ping the group on the recent addition of the Bedrock mural incident to the "Detroit Initiative" section. There are two issues with it. First, as it's written currently, it does not accurately reflect the citation and raises a question of NPOV. It currently reads that the "mural, depicting only white persons ..." This is not accurate and does not match the content in the citation, which says it was "using an image that showed a predominantly white crowd ..." So that needs to be edited and fixed no matter what. Second, should this even be included on his page? Sourcing for Sports franchise ownership section[edit]

Hello! My name is Andrea and I am an employee of Quicken Loans. I'd like to suggest some changes to improve the Dan Gilbert article. Because of my conflict of interest as an employee, I will only post suggestions on Talk pages.

One of the first things that stand out to me as needing improvement is the lack of quality sourcing in several parts of the article. To begin, I've identified a few sources to support some unsourced material in the Sports franchise ownership section.

During Gilbert's tenure, the Cavs won six Central Division championships (2009, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018),[1][2] five Eastern Conference championships (2007, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018),[3] and one NBA championship (2016) which ended the 52-year Cleveland sports curse.[4] Also in 2016, Gilbert's Lake Erie (now Cleveland) Monsters won the AHL's top prize - the Calder Cup - giving Gilbert two championships within eight days.[5]
In 2007, Gilbert bought the dormant Utah Grizzlies American Hockey League franchise, moved it to Cleveland and renamed it the Lake Erie Monsters (now Cleveland Monsters).[6][7]
In early 2012, Gilbert became the new owner of the Arena Football League's Cleveland Gladiators.[8]
In 2011, Gilbert purchased the New Mexico Thunderbirds from what was then the NBA Developmental League (now called the G League), and moved them to Canton, Ohio (about an hour drive south of Cleveland) renaming them the Canton Charge, and making them the Cavaliers' affiliate.[9]

Sourcing for Quicken Loans section[edit]

Hello, it's Andrea here with a few references to support information in the Quicken Loans section and to update some incorrect dates and figures. I've removed or changed text that has no supportive reliable source, and I've eliminated use of Quicken Loans' website altogether. As I've mentioned here before, I am an employee of Quicken Loans and therefore have a financial conflict of interest. I will only post my edit requests to appropriate talk pages.

Below is an updated version of the Quicken Loans section with full sourcing and a few updates.

Gilbert, recognizing that the real potential was in originating mortgages and not in selling homes, founded Rock Financial in 1985 with his younger brother Gary Gilbert.[1]
In 1999, software maker Intuit Inc. purchased Rock Financial.[1] It renamed the company Quicken Loans[2] and began offering direct-to-consumer home loans on the internet, offering mortgages in all 50 states.[1][3] Gilbert remained at the company as CEO.[3]
In 2002, Gilbert led a small group of private investors that purchased Quicken Loans[1][2] and Title Source, Inc., from Intuit.[4] In 2009, Quicken Loans moved its headquarters and 1,700 of its employees from Livonia, Michigan to Detroit.[2] After moving all 2,600 Michigan-based team members into Detroit's urban core by the end of 2010, the company now has approximately 17,000 team members in Detroit making the company one of Detroit's largest employers, minority employers, and taxpayers.[5]
In the fourth quarter of 2017, the company became the largest retail mortgage lender by volume in the United States.[6] As of 2019, Gilbert continues to serve as the chairman of Quicken Loans, Inc.[7]
