What is "vDOS"?[edit]

Article says that, as well as supporting IBM's DOS/360, DOS/VS and DOS/VSE operating systems, it also supported TCSC/NCSC/Nixdorf's Edos (aka Edos/VS, Edos/VSE, Nidos/VSE), and something called "vDOS". What was that? I assume that, similar to Edos, it was another vendor's fork of IBM's mainframe DOS, but I can find zero information after extensive searching on any such product. I wish whoever added it had at least given us something to go on, like a vendor name. Part of the problem with searching for it, is "vDOS" is somewhat of a common name, and you get lots of hits for unrelated things called that (such as a fork of DOSBox, or a nonstandard abbreviation for Motorola VERSAdos).
