Cy is the one-eyed kitten born in Redmond Oregon on December 28th 2005. Her picture was published on the internet by the Associated Press. She was one of the more popular images viewed and emailed during January 2006. A follow-up story was published later by Editor & Publisher. The A.P. opted not to update the article about verifying that Cy was indeed a real kitten and was a rare birth defect and was not caused by inbreeding. The mother cat has had several litters and with the same mate, all born normal with the exception of Cy.
