Promotional singles vs. Single?[edit]

So this is something that has always confused me, but what is the distinction between Single and Promotional single when it comes to Lizzo's work? For previous albums all songs that were released prior to the album were considered singles. "Cuz I Love You" even got a music video and "Tempo" charted, Lizzo's second song to do so. Yes but Lizzo does release songs to the radio, like "Juice" and "Truth Hurts". "Cuz I Love You" and "Tempo" were not released as singles, and having a music video or charting does not mean they are a single. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 20:36, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Truth Hurts"[edit]

There is a little hidden note in the "Singles" section of this album's infobox saying that the songs, "Water Me", "Truth Hurts", and "Boys" should not be added as singles from the album. I do agree that "Water Me" and "Boys" are not singles from the album. However, I believe that "Truth Hurts" is a single from the album as it was clearly used to promote Cuz I Love You. It was released to the radio as a single after the release of the album and after the lead single "Juice" was released. It was clearly used to promote the album because there is no other reason that "Truth Hurts" would be released to radio nearly 2 years after the original release date unless it was to promote her recent album. The song was added as a bonus track on the album to boost its chart performance after becoming popular. That is not the same thing as promoting the album. Ss112 03:15, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rock genre label[edit]

Can anyone provide a source for this being a rock album? Not “rock elements” or a “rock influence” or having a “rock song” on there, actually a reliable source that literally and directly says “Cuz I Love You is a rock album”? Sergecross73 msg me 23:28, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it certainly is multiple genre, but I'm saying the genre in the genre box are terms used to describe the whole album. The fact that the sources "switches between funk, pop and rock" and not, lets say "blends rock, pop, and rock" is my point exactly. The fact that it says that its "switching" would imply that not all of it is rock. Its just like we wouldn't call Hybrid Theory a rap album even though there is in fact some rapping in it, and we wouldn't call All the Right Reasons a country album just because there's a country song on there (Rockstar). (And being an experienced editor doesn't give anyone more klout in discussions. And even if it did, I've been an editor for 11 years myself...) As said on your talk page, the Exclaim! source (that isn't cited on the article, but I found through a search) literally doesn't say "mix", "switches" or "elemnets" or anything like that. It directly calls the album "soul, funk and rock"—"also bringing forth soul, funk and rock for the 11-track project". It's not like reviews are saying there is one rock song and we're arguing to keep it in because of that—then I could understand. It's saying it's a blend in as many words.
