Redirect?

I broke the redirect to this page that came from the word 'Valvoline' since I find no information here that seems to relate at all. If there is reason for that redirect, a disambiguation page should be created at 'Valvoline'. While not directly pertinent to this article, the 'Valvoline' redirect now points to Ashland, Inc. Myth?

Article says: "The 5.9 liter B-series used in the Dodge Ram has proven to be very popular, disproving the myth that diesel engines are not popular with American auto consumers."

No, it doesn't. The set of people who buy pickup trucks is not the same as the set of all American auto consumers. One successful product in a niche market is not enough to disprove a statement about general market conditions.

Suggest merge of Holset Engineering into Cummins

Cummins has acquired Holset Engineering to make superchargers for Cummins engines, so Holset should now be part of the main Cummins article as a subsidiary. --John Nagle 04:14, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

mention in news article

I just saw this and though I'd share it on the talk page. About the only positive statememnt in the article.Bawolff 22:07, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

By the way, Someone else saw the article and changed the logo [2]. Bawolff 22:09, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Holset in Huddersfield has changed its name to Cummins Turbo Technologies, so technically, there shouldn't be an article on Holset.yaiiiiiiiiiiit

The veiw that companies articles when taken over should be condensed into the new owners article is redicules. By the same token every article on A State should be one paragraph of the article on the country them. - BulldozerD11 (talk) 19:23, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Consolidated Diesel Company

I didnt know know what part to post this, but Cummins just bought Rocky Mount Engine Plant which used to be Consolidated Diesel Company(CDC) 2 days ago. Would that be important to post. Onan

Onan redirects to the Cummins page but for many, many years it had it's own history. I propose that a Onan page be created separate from the Cummins page. And in the onan article the aquisition of Onan by Cummins shall be mentioned at the end of the history.

Some examples of what I mean: Jaguar does not redirect to Ford and it has it's own page. The same can be said about Aston Martin, Land Rover, Mazda, ETC.

Cadillac does not automatically redirect to GM even though for many years the two were separate entities until GM acquired them.

Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) was bought out by HP in the late 1990's and it has it's own article with mention of the Compaq merger. Now Compaq has it's own wiki page and it was bought by HP in 2001 yet the DEC article remains intact (With no redirects). Marconi Company is another with many aquistions to its name. I could go on forever. But I believe you get my drift.

Onan Needs it's one Wiki Article with out any redirect or Disambiguation page pointing to Cummins.--70.126.236.103 12:55, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

History Pages:

Agreed. Onan was significant for its wide range of generator products long before Cummins took them over. Duncan1800 (talk) 09:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Indiana assessment

This page needs to remove the giant lists and include the information in a prose format. Additionally in line references are needed to improve this article. -Jahnx (talk) 09:44, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Moved to Start class as totally lacking in an references other than corporate web site, which for a well know corporation in the public eye, there must be some reliable press reports to collaborate the info. The list need cleaning up, possibly into a table with useful info like when introduced and applications. The one paragraph history is too brief with a list of one paragraph stubs merged in from companies that have been taken over, and no real history of those companies or a { {main|xyz co} } link to a proper article, to give a decent back ground. So fails C class criteria in my veiw. - BulldozerD11 (talk) 19:23, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Cummins Hedgehog

If anyone is interested, I saw this article. I'm not sure how to incorporate it, but I am sure someone else could. [3]--v/r - TP 20:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

NASA now uses these engines

NASA just put these engines into crawler transporter which ferries their space shuttles to from construction to the launch pad.

Here is a link to the gizmag article I found it in for further information (http://www.gizmag.com/nasas-crawler-gets-upgrade/24054/) tumaru 17:47, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

History=Cummins copyrighted site

Almost the entire history section is taken virtually word for word from a Cummins site at http://www.cummins.com/cmi/navigationAction.do?nodeId=3&siteId=1&nodeName=In+Words&menuId=1000 which has a 2013 copyright. Sammy D III (talk) 03:37, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
