Inconsistency?[edit]

Interesting article, but doesn't it contain an inconsistency? In the summary it says "Creep feeding is used almost exclusively in situations where ... offspring is born in the fall ..." but later it says "It is used primarily with spring-born calves." Those can't both be right, can they? Gms3591 (talk) 07:41, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed The ref says spring, I apparently had a moment or something and completely space. I've fixed it. --TKK bark ! 12:11, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

so what IS creep feeding?[edit]

The article explains when creep feeding is best used, but does not say what it is. Two obvious questions about creep feeding:

  1. What is the feed made of? Grain? Sugar? Some form of waste from food production?
  2. How is it supplied/administered to the calves? Lumps of something? Powder? Liquid?

It's made of corn and barley with added nutrients(I believe it says that? I remember writing it at some point; I'll take a look). It's administered to calved the same way that regular food is 'administered' to full grown calves; that's why it isn't really expanded on. Thanks for catching these! --TKK bark ! 12:13, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
