Mudkips and football[edit]

Regarding the removal/readdition of these two sections:

  • The mudkips references are obvious vandalism, and should be removed as such
  • The in-depth report on a single football game is undue weight, and thus is not encyclopedic either. Additionally, the tone in which it is written is definitely not neutral; phrases such as "nifty 69-yard run", uncited quotes from coaches, and exclamation points add inappropriate tone to the section, and as such it would require a massive rewrite even if it were worthy of keeping.

This is my reasoning for deleting these sections; if you feel differently, please respond. FlamingSilmaril (talk) 00:18, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the mudkip refrences aren't total vandalism... I went to Bartram trail, and I was in the class that got to nominate and vote for a school mascot. Mudkip really did win, I'm not lying. But the school board did not approve. And about the football thing, that was some guy who was on the football team and was so excited about his first win... --65.80.201.101 (talk) 22:31, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe keep the mudkip thing?[edit]

I realize it may not fit Wiki's quality standards but I think the mudkip subject is an entertaining and somewhat relevant tidbit. While most of the mudkip references were phrased in a way that qualified them as vandalism I think it could be said in a "wiki-esque way", like "Bartram trail students expected to transfer to creekside voted on the mascot. Ironically the winner of the vote was "mudkip", a fictional Pokemon character. The school board however, did not approve and choose the knight to be the mascot instead." Or something along those lines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Splew (talkcontribs) 05:31, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If it's treated in an encyclopedic manner, it might be appropriate to include. However, it needs to be cited by reliable sources. So far, I haven't seen any reliable sources backing up this claim. Do you know where to find them? FlamingSilmaril (talk) 14:43, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
