Creation of English page[edit]

@Paris 16 and Robert.Allen: Hello. I created the present article and I emphasized the French one : fr:cour carrée. I hope that you will agree with them. I go to the Louvre circa one a month. If you wish some photos, perhaps I can take them. For Robert, the large bed of the chambre de parade de l'hotel de Chevreuse has been removed, I dont know why. And some times the roman and greek antiquities are moved from one room to another. Not easy to follow... Best regards.--Tangopaso (talk) 13:01, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Tangopaso: pictures would be good, but you might want to check Wikimedia Commons first so you don't duplicate what is already available. I am currently doing a copy-edit and have not looked at the French page yet. If there are pictures there you would like to use, they are most likely already on Wikimedia. In any event, more pictures are always an improvement. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have, either here or at the Teahouse link on the main Wikipedia page, since I am not always available. PPS if you are familiar with the place, or in Paris and can find out, perhaps you can help me with the following: en.wikipedia capitalizes the first letter only if the title is a description (as you no doubt realize, cour carrée='square courtyard'), unless the description is an actual name (en français, un nom propre). But if "cour carrée" is the actual name of the thing, wouldn't both words also be capitalized in French? Elinruby (talk) 03:28, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I confirm that Cour Carrée is an actual name and not only a description. So capitalization of the two words should be better. Even in French. But for me, it is not very important. --Tangopaso (talk) 18:04, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

translator notes - few terms frequently mistranslated from French[edit]

Adding a couple thoughts for myself and perhaps others:

"destruction" implies total obliteration, perhaps malicious. When talking about a building, "demolition"" is a better translation.

"transform" is also not really wrong, but confusing in this context. "Renovation" is better.
