The map simply shows the city of Bärn which is covert in Moravský Beroun. A county Bärn doesn't seem to exist. --Mandavi (talk) 23:42, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently you are having troubles understanding what is going on here:

  • 1. You first said this should be deleted because a biography needs to have citations. This is NOT a biography.
  • 2. Then you confuse a present day "city" with a "historical county." This is NOT a city.
  • 3. The map is a historical map showing the German names of Moravian counties in 1939.

So let me try to help you. This particular piece of geography has had both German names and Czech names for many centuries. In addition, the name of the area has been called different things over the last 100 years. County Bärn is a historical county in Moravia that existed from sometime in the 17th century up to about 1947. This is why this county is part of the category, Historic counties in Moravia.

It is important to know about this historical county because any document that mentions County Bärn during that time period refers to this geographical location. Geographical boundaries were redrawn after WWII. This is also why the German version of WIKIPEDIA has an entire article on this county. The fact that the German "editors" have found this noteworthy should give great pause to any English "editor" on Wikipedia - after all isn't Wikipedia global and should it not transcend language barriers? Researchers look to encyclopedias to gather useful information. Isn't that the purpose? English researchers need information that transcends language barriers as well.

There are many stubs on Wikipedia. Stubs should not have to have citations - I have seen hundreds of pages like that on Wikipedia over the years. Stubs are stubs. The intention is to indicate the existence of an important subject that stills needs more information added. I trust you understand.

I am sorry that I appear to be losing my patience - but I am. To me those who "edit" pages have an obligation to understand what they are editing or else they should not be editing it. Furthermore, "editors" should also be required to create pages as well. Once they personally experience the actions of "editors" who do not take the time to understand their subject, they would be far less apt to continue the practice. I am pressing for reform - not trying to offend. Every few years I spend a bit of time on Wikipedia but am always driven away by actions such as this. Thanks for hearing me out. So where is the german page on the county? I can't seem to find it. Please add sources to the article since I don't see any prove that this county ever existed. --Mandavi (talk) 15:52, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
