Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Count Gaetano Mazzaglia Cutelli be merged into this article. Both articles seem to cover the same topic, and were created just two days apart. Gronk Oz (talk) 13:55, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree. How is the merger conducted? Torikiki (talk) 23:09, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Once we give it a few days to be sure there is consensus, the merge process is described at Wikipedia:Merging#How_to_merge. Basically, somebody (preferably who is familiar with the subject) copies any material from the other article which is additional or better, and weaves it skillfully into the present article, so the end result reflects the best of both articles. Then the old article is replaced with a redirection to the new article. --Gronk Oz (talk) 07:12, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like there are no nays. I will be executing the merger with the following steps. First, most of the other page is completely unsourced, and all of the images have been flagged for deletion. Until those stabilize, I do not believe they should be imported here. As this page was created first, and the other has issues with neutrality and sourcing, I first remove all unsourced material from the other page. Then, I will move what is sourced and not replicated here from that page. Lastly, I will be make that page a redirect. Isingness (talk) 15:04, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Family Line[edit]

I have completed the merger, moving all new material here that was sourced. Below, however, is a family line chart that appears entirely unsourced. I am not really in favour of moving this onto this page, as again it is entirely unsourced, and appears strongly of Coatracking, but I thought a discussion is possibly merited. Any comment? Isingness (talk) 15:33, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the diff to the original page is here for historical purposes: [1] Isingness (talk) 15:41, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On behalf of Antonio Caudullo dei Cutelli whom provided the information on the former article "Hello dear Isingness, I am count Antonio Caudullo dei Cutelli, grandson of Tano Cutelli, and i would like to add a few words to this discussion since i am the last male descendant of my mother Rosanna Mazzaglia Caudullo dei Cutelli, the first born. The names cited are all my brothers and sisters (and 2 cousins). The extra Italian newspapers, that were included previously, were to give extra evidence about the subject. Not to mention that it would be my dream and honour to be included near my grandfather in the esteemed Wikipedia, especially by your fidelity in the facts that are included. The full page articles that were included are of my property, and if nobody is against and you agree, they can freely be used for this article. However, I stand by what you believe is best. I would like to thank you for your interest in the subject and wish all a pleasant day" Torikiki (talk) 17:54, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the candor, and the use of Brightline! Newspaper articles are the property of the newspapers that issued them, but either way it is not generally in line with Wikipedia's manual of style to use whole newspaper articles/pages as images. In terms of the family tree, generally you only want to do this if there are multiple individuals on the tree with their own pages on Wikipedia, or if the family tree is itself the subject of significant coverage. In either case you would need a source on each relation to fall into line with the requisite sourcing rules here. If we can find those sources, then I have no issue with adding the family tree personally; though others may see it as Undue, I have no issue with adding a sourced version, collaboratively or otherwise. dearest sir, i would like to add that my grandfather had 2 children: countess Rosanna Mazzaglia (my mother, and heir) and her brother (Angelo). I understand the notion of Coatracking about the grandchildren. I attach one of the links (http://mattinopadova.gelocal.it/padova/cronaca/2011/08/17/news/morta-la-contessa-cutelli-cartomante-di-lady-d-1.1151464) that talks about the death and relationship of my mother and her father. There are more, but they are paid links. i think it is very apt as it just attests more to my grandfather facts. Thank you again. what do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Torikiki (talkcontribs) 21:49, 31 March 2017 (UTC) Torikiki (talk) 18:57, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
