Mechanism diagram[edit]

The diagram in the mechanism section, File:Corey-Winter_olefination_mechanism_v1.svg, looks wrong to me. After the departure of the neutral molecule SP(OMe)3, a carbene should remain, but a carbanion is shown. The text above mentions a carbene. If a carbanion is actually formed, it must have a counter cation somewhere. --Ben (talk) 16:59, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative mechanism diagram[edit]

The second mechanism is also incorrectly depicted - the arrow from the carbanion to the phosphorus should be reversed, with the lone pair ":" on the phosphorus. Kgandrews (talk) 06:39, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
