Esoteric but highly notable, deserves deorphaning[edit]

The real-time, GOES-derived weather analysis "products" provided by CIMSS at http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/rt/ are highly notable and our encyclopedia needs this description of the organization that provides them (i.e. CIMSS). The analyses are perhaps a bit esoteric; it seems they are intended primarily for expert meteorologists. Sometimes the images are used in widely by media, for example this story by KTKA used a CIMSS image of Hurricane Ike. Probably hurricane and tropical storm related analyses are the ones that should be used to de-orphan this article. (sdsds - talk) 03:06, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
