Mass Effect[edit]

Couldn't this be combined into the Mass Effect page? I don't see a reason for it to be seperate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.199.91.72 (talk) 23:13, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A VERY basic start on Shepard. BURNyA 22:02, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this going to even be able to be filled up?[edit]

Unless Bioware specifically tells us that a certain path that Shepard takes is canon, we're going to be unable to specify any details as to his past life or even the story during the game. 24.211.23.77 (talk) 05:05, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not any time soon. Assuming that the sequel also features the same character, they'll canonize one of the possible paths, but that's a ways off. EvilCouch (talk) 09:55, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget, KOTOR's endings were both canon depending on the starting convo with Aton, so we shouldn't put anything canon-related until we're absolutely certain. If there's an ending where we all die, that could very well be it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.183.237 (talk) 23:46, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Atlantean references[edit]

So... the default male name is john shepard? And it is about an ex-military guy (if he is male) going to other planets to save mankind? that sounds like a copyright suit waiting to happen.A1s (talk) 11:28, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it maybe the case but the game lets the player choose the main character's first name and sex, which would distinguish him/her from the character from stargate... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.161.127.193 (talk) 07:29, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Shepard is not ex-military, but rather active military. The last name is the only canonical part of his name, and the lack of a defined sex is another key difference. Combine that with the fact that none of the specific story is the same, that's just looking for trouble. Morte42 (talk) 04:21, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Things to add[edit]

I've split this off, but there are still some things that can be added to the article before I'd really consider it "complete": discussion of FemShep (what's there now is basically just a start), information on the various merchandise made around Shepard (I distinctly recall a whole bunch of figurines), small discussion on the criticism of femShep's "beauty contest", perhaps some refining/cutting of text and maybe expanding ME3's section, and finally some further reception.

I'm hoping to do a lot of this myself, but life has just come up, as it does, so if anyone else wants to have a go. I am also, alas, far from perfect. Though obviously that's not very noticeable. – Bellum (talk) (contribs) 18:51, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change "See also"![edit]

Really, Wikipedia, thanks for spoiling the greatest twist in the history of video games. Who allowed to post the fact, that (SPOILERS!!!) Revan is player's character in KotOR? Please, change it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.240.40.86 (talk) 22:05, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Same-sex relationships in Mass Effect 3[edit]

It's mentioned in passing in Mass Effect 3 article but probably warrants a blurb here and possible adding to wikiproject LGBT.
